Romanian-born jazz pianist Sorin Zlat invites you to join him on an unforgettable musical journey. His newly released album, Endurance, which is centered on the power of love and family, captivates the listener with influences from the Latin, flamenco, and classical music styles combined with jazz and the melodious sounds of the Romanian doinas. The inspiration for this project came to him through much emotional turmoil as he channeled his younger’s sister battle with cancer into the beautiful and masterfully crafted melodies that is Endurance. The new harmonic and rhythmic depths of this album will take the audience through the emotions brought on by loss, pain, suffering, but also hope, faith, love, and joy. Besides his personal compositions, Zlat will perform renowned jazz standards from the jazz greats such as John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Victor Young, and Michelle Legrand, all of which he renewed to reveal new vistas of musical expression and his uncontestable technical virtuosity.

Sorin Georgian Zlat is an international award-winning jazz pianist, classical clarinetist, composer, and arranger. He started his performing career at the young age of thirteen when he was featured as a soloist with the Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra “Mihail Jora”. Inspired by his father and grandfather, two accomplished European musicians, Sorin went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Piano Jazz from which he graduated Summa Cum Laude. As a young graduate, he created a repertoire comprising pieces of standard jazz and personal compositions, ranging through Latin and jazz, pop, and classical music, and which is orchestrated to reflect a unique interpretative style. With musical influences from Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and John Coltrane, his imaginative approach gained him instant recognition on the European and North American jazz scene. Among numerous other awards, he is the winner of the 2015 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition, the 2013 Monaco Jazz Competition, and two-time winner of the “Best Jazz Musician of the Year” in his home country. He was recently signed by the European Muzza Foundation and A&A Records under which he released his first album “Endurance”. Sorin is touring the world as composer-pianist performing his composition as well as jazz standards, masterly interpreted in his inimitable style. A believer in continuously stretching his creative capabilities and expanding his knowledge, he is currently involved in numerous projects, from being commissioned for a jazz symphony to composing music for the film industry.
